I have been going to Leslie Baca for years. I have always been happy with my cut and color. She takes time to listen to me. I trust her to always make my hair nice. She is also wonderful to talk to. She is polite and considerate and I just love her to pieces!

For almost 35 years Jacque Asher and Tijeras Hair Co. have been a vital part of my life—anyone who has ever complimented my haircut or styling was actually singing Jacque’s praises. My gratitude is boundless for her genius and loyalty to her friends. I’m hoping for a lifelong “collaboration” with this fabulous woman!

I had an amazing treat day starting with a facial from Corine and a hair appointment with Leslie. The entire experience was amazing! Corine was so knowledgeable and used products that were great for my sensitive skin. She talked me through post-maintenance and it was a very personable experience. My hair color and cut was gorgeous! I truly left feeling like a queen!!

I got one of the most gorgeous cuts I’ve ever had, and my stylist Dani was so kind and gentle, and very fun to chat with. Everyone I interacted with was lovely, and it was genuinely one of the most beautifully appointed salons I’ve ever had the pleasure of walking into. Tried them out because I live close by, and it was the best choice I could’ve made. Even if I eventually move, I’ll definitely be coming back for as long as humanly possible.

Leslie is amazing and has been for the last 15 years I have been coming to her! I trust her completely with all my hair needs.

I have been going to Liz for about a year now. She is by far away the best hair hairdresser I’ve ever been to. She really listens to her clients and does what they want not what she thinks they want.

My mom, before she passed, had been coming to see Liz for forty years. I followed in her footsteps and came to see Liz 3 years ago after spinal surgery. She made me feel beautiful after a very hard time in my life and I have been coming ever since.

It is not inexpensive but Leslie Baca always gives me the best cut. This is the only salon I have ever been to where I am able to describe and get exactly what I want!

Services: Haircut, Hairstyling

Requested style: I wear my hair very short in the back, a bit longer on top with curtain bangs. I don’t style my hair much, just wash, add a little product for hold, comb and go.

Hair type: I have fine straight hair but also some cowlicks that can be hard to manage.

Stylist: Leslie Baca-I have been coming to her for several years and would be very unhappy if I had to give her up. My grown children always come to her for a cut when they visit Albuquerque.

I have been a client of Tijeras salon for over 25 years and I have always been so very pleased and happy with my haircuts, my perms, and anything else that I need Liz to do. She takes care of me professionally, but also shows an interest in me personally which is very nice.

Went back for a trim and brought my mom. My mom loved it, it made her day. Dani cut both of our hair. She’s very skillful and is good at taking her time and discussing it So the ending cut is exactly what u want.

My husband and I are always delighted with the results. The stylists are not only incredibly talented, but they’re also genuinely kind and understanding. They’ve worked wonders with my thin hair, creating a style that looks great and is easy to maintain, despite my genetic and medical challenges. You can tell they truly care about their clients. Honestly, I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was with everyone at Tijeras Hair Co. We are new to Albuquerque. This combined with the autoimmune problems I have (scents/chemicals are a big problem) made me concerned about being able to find a salon that would work for me. The receptionist, Kya, and stylist, Liz, were incredibly kind, patient, listened well, and were willing to do everything possible to help. Also, Liz is highly skilled and has a deep knowledge base to pull from. I wish there were 10 stars available to select!!

My hairstylist’s name was Liz, she was very kind and helpful, she was very enthusiastic and helped me feel at ease as she worked on cutting my hair; it was my first time getting my hair cut in ABQ. I’ve had some bad experiences with my hair being cut, but Liz did an amazing job and her mom was so kind too, also shout out to Kya their front desk receptionist. Thank you so much for a warm welcome and amazing work. I love my new cut and styling is so much easier now.

Not only are the vibes so homey and nice, the experience, the communication was EVERYTHING I have been looking for in a salon. Even while the haircut was happening she would stop and ask if what she was doing was looking good and she would genuinely tell me how my hair would be if she did things a certain way. They even took me in when I called to see if I could walk in. AMAZING

I called after I had a failed perm at another salon. Leslie had a cancellation and got me in right away! I’m sooo happy. She understood right away what the problem was and totally fixed my hair. She was able to cut it and make use of the little curl that was there.

I love love love this place and all the people that work there! I would give them 10 stars if I could. Not only does Liz do an amazing job with my fine, thin hair, she is also kind, gentle, respectful, and incredibly compassionate. I recently had a true hair emergency, and the whole staff was so supportive and understanding. I love Tijeras Hair Co. Leslie cuts my hair, and I can always trust her work. Even more, and VERY importantly, because I have mobility issues, she takes care of me. She makes sure I don’t have to climb any steps up, and makes other accommodations for my disability and age. She’s able to do this because Tijeras Hair always does their best to look after their customers. Best of all, they have exercised both ordinary and extraordinary care during the Covid pandemic. As part of the most vulnerable population, I really appreciate that.

This is THE best hair salon I’ve been too! I’ve always hated my hair and before Liz even touched my head she made me feel so much more confident and attractive with my straight hair. Her attention to detail, professionalism and connection with customers is hard to find. The place is so calming, welcoming and so aesthetic. I mentioned I was a new Mom and it was nice to get alone time. It was as though she put in extra effort to make sure I got pampered. I will be getting my hair done here for my wedding in September! I would give more stars if I could.

I have been a fan of Liz at Tijeras ever since I witnessed an amazing before and after cut/style she did for a client. The client’s hair was long enough to sit on, and straight. She was ready to have it cut short. When I saw her emerge after the cut, I was stunned at how cute and stylish her now short hair looked!

Liz is the only one who has ever done a consistently fantastic job of cutting my curly hair. She is masterful with hair color, a great talent of which I have also benefited. And, when I was ready to transition from hair coloring to my natural salt and pepper, she did a phenomenal job!

She’s been cutting it for many years. In the last couple of years, she’s been coloring it as well. She gives me golden blonde highlights and colors the gray my natural, medium brown. I’ve wanted to write this for a while, just so you know what you mean to the community and me.

Tijeras Hair Co. has been, for me, the best hair salon I’ve ever been to (and we are talking about 50 years of haircuts and color). What is so wonderful about the salon are the women who own it and those who work there.

Jacque and Liz are two of the most generous women in the city. They are always there to give a hand up to new businesses or to people who need a boost. I love walking into the salon to find artwork, jewelry, and other wonderful items for sale by local artists. They look out for their clientele and treat everyone like family.

Jennifer, who greets you with a genuine smile, is friendly and professional. She works so hard on last minute cancellations (I’m guilty) and can work miracles with the schedule. Leslie is a great stylist with a sparkling upbeat personality who makes everyone feel welcome.

Liz is a master colorist and stylist and I’ve seen her do wonders with my hair and others. I trust her implicity with how she cuts my hair – it always flatters my look. Jacque has years of experience under her belt and can cut both men’s and women’s hair with equal finesse.

I don’t think Liz and Jacque realize the impact they have on their clients, but I think they should know that they make everyone feel good about themselves. I’ve seen them train new graduates out of beauty school and pass on their wealth knowledge to them. They are generous to a fault. That’s what I love about them – that in addition to their expertise, they are good human beings. Thank you for being so kind to me, for making my hair look great, and for being such sweet, caring, and strong women.

With regards to Tijeras Naturals Hair Care Products, I have been using the full line of hair care products for over twenty years. When my hair was long and without color or perm, the products left my hair with a lustrous finish and a silken weightless touch to say nothing of native fragrance of clove or sage. For years I have been trying to get them to go further with their fragrances native to our enchanting southwest, but they have held fast to their original good choices in fragrance and in price. Time and age has asked me to shorten and color my coiffure. Even with color highlights and the use of heat in my hair grooming, the shine that nature intends is preserved with these products without any sacrifice of volume, manageability, or the silkiest touch.

THIRTY SIX YEARS OMG!! It is hard to believe… time really flies. Well, twenty eight years ago on September 24, 1983 I was married to Billy, and you did my hair… can you believe it!! My friends can’t believe I have had the same hairdresser for all those years, 28 years and longer.

Your mom Jacque was cutting my hair when I was at Jefferson Junior High, ha-ha. Now my 17 year-old daughter, Brianna won’t have any one but you cut and style her hair.
