If I wear a ponytail every day, is it bad for my hair?

Wearing a pony tail every day can cause breakage, snagging, or splintering of the hair. If wearing it down is not an option—maybe you play sports, work in a profession where you can’t have your hair hanging down, or you just like the look of a sleek ponytail—there are preventative measures you can take in order to lessen the damage. First, make sure you aren’t using plastic, rubber bands, or ponytail holders with metal. These will snag on your hair and cause breakage. Try foraccessories covered in fabric or silk because those are more delicate on your locks. Second, try one of our tricks. Spritz your hair with a silicone spray before you put it up so it will glide more smoothly against any hair accessories.
